Dr. Alexis Cruz
Primary Care Physician - Halethorpe, Maryland
Practice at Sage Health
Dr. Cruz is a board-certified Family Medicine physician who was born and raised in Texas and recently relocated to Maryland. She is a proud Latina physician who offers healthcare in both English and Spanish. She is passionate about caring for our growing senior population and educating patients on healthy lifestyle changes. Dr. Cruz joined Sage Health because she was seeking a practice of like-minded physicians who are motivated to give patients top quality care while also assisting them in navigating our complicated healthcare system.
Experience
Throughout her career, Dr. Cruz was able to complete a specialized training course that focused on caring for underserved patients and identifying social determinants of health. She worked closely with the Texas Familias Council to help bring health education and empowerment to rural east Texas communities. Dr. Cruz has been recognized for her compassion in medicine and passion for caring for underserved populations.
Dr. Cruz spearheaded a diabetes education program during her residency where she taught patients about the importance of following a healthy diet and always cooked a well-balanced meal for them. She hopes to use this experience to help her diabetic patients make healthy food choices.
