Dr. Alexis Cruz

Practice at Sage Health
Dr. Cruz is a board-certified Family Medicine physician who was born and raised in Texas and recently relocated to Maryland. She is a proud Latina physician who offers healthcare in both English and Spanish. She is passionate about caring for our growing senior population and educating patients on healthy lifestyle changes. Dr. Cruz joined Sage Health because she was seeking a practice of like-minded physicians who are motivated to give patients top quality care while also assisting them in navigating our complicated healthcare system.
Experience
Throughout her career, Dr. Cruz was able to complete a specialized training course that focused on caring for underserved patients and identifying social determinants of health. She worked closely with the Texas Familias Council to help bring health education and empowerment to rural east Texas communities. Dr. Cruz has been recognized for her compassion in medicine and passion for caring for underserved populations.
Dr. Cruz spearheaded a diabetes education program during her residency where she taught patients about the importance of following a healthy diet and always cooked a well-balanced meal for them. She hopes to use this experience to help her diabetic patients make healthy food choices.

 Dr. Nelson-Williams is a board-certified family medicine physician and clinical research scientist dedicated to helping patients live healthier, longer lives. With more than a decade of experience spanning clinical medicine, medical research, and global health, he is passionate about delivering personalized, relationship-centered care that puts patients first. He believes the best medicine begins with listening, building trust, and partnering with patients to prevent disease, optimize wellness, and slow the progression of chronic medical conditions.
Experience
Dr. Nelson-Williams joined Sage Health because he values the opportunity to provide the time, attention, and compassionate care every patient deserves. His diverse background includes clinical practice, medical education, regulatory science, and international health systems strengthening.
Outside of work he enjoys traveling, creating music, good movies, and spending time with his family.
