As the Market Medical Director for Sage Health in Baltimore, Michael is responsible for clinical oversight of our patients in the Baltimore region and sees patients of his own at Sage Health’s Halethorpe Center. He was excited to join Sage Health to help ensure that seniors in Baltimore could receive the care that they deserve- comprehensive, coordinated, high-quality and cost-effective primary care that puts the patient at the center of every conversation.

Experience

Michael has been a faculty member in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine for almost thirty years.  He is passionate about taking care of patients, as well as teaching the future doctors of tomorrow.  He has held senior leadership positions in the University of Maryland Medical System, including CEO at Kernan Hospital (now UMROI) and Chief Medical Officer at the University of Maryland Medical Center.   He is trained as an Internal Medicine physician, is a member of the American Association for Physician Leadership and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Babra is a board-certified family medicine physician committed to maximizing patient wellness and care. He believes in providing each patient the positive healthcare experience they deserve through good communication and active collaboration between the patient and care team.

He has extensive experience in the development of public health protocols and chronic disease screening programs for Maryland residents while working at the Maryland Department of Health.

Dr. Babra joined Sage Health because of his passion for providing comprehensive healthcare to seniors focusing on chronic disease prevention. His clinical interests also include diet/nutrition, exercise, and health coaching to reduce chronic diseases.

Practice at Sage Health

Dr. Hasnuddin is a board-eligible physician specializing in Geriatrics Medicine and Internal Medicine. Born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Woodlawn, Maryland, he was inspired to pursue a career in medicine following a medical missionary trip to underserved areas in Peru. After completing his clinical training in Illinois and Texas, Dr. Hasnuddin is excited to return to his hometown and contribute to the community that shaped him.

He believes that Sage Health providers share his commitment to forming strong physician-patient relationships, a cornerstone of delivering high-quality care. Dr. Hasnuddin is a strong advocate for preventive medicine, focusing on effective lifestyle modifications to prevent the progression of chronic conditions and reduce hospitalizations.

Experience

During his Internal Medicine residency, Dr. Hasnuddin conducted research on breast cancer screening among minority elderly populations, which was published in the World Journal of Oncology.

While completing his Geriatrics Medicine fellowship, he presented a case report on neuropsychiatric manifestations of dementia at the American Geriatrics Society (AGS) convention. His dedication and compassion were recognized when he was honored as Fellow of the Year, particularly for his work with patients who are bed-bound or with limited mobility.

Throughout his career, Dr. Hasnuddin has been known for his genuine, gentle, and comforting approach with patients and their families. He maintains open communication and is dedicated to improving senior wellness and supporting individuals with limited resources.
